Even though I had a short week in work, it felt long. I had a two-day in-person training that messed up my work at home schedule. Which in turn meant I had to rearrange some of my workouts, but I managed to get them in (and I’ll explain how in a second!).
I also put out my Christmas decorations and decorated my Christmas tree. I love having a twinkling tree in my living room. I can’t imagine the holidays without one.
I think the most exciting part of this week was my great deal on dumbbells from craigslist! I found a listing from a couple who was moving and didn’t want to pay the freight cost to transport the wife’s weight set. For a steal I got a bunch of lighter weights that I left with my mom and grandma, and for me, I got sets of 8, 10, 12 and 15 lb. weights. Now that means that on days I can’t get to the gym, I can still get in my strength training. And that’s just what I did this week! I need to keep an eye out for cheap 20 lb. and 25 lb. dumbbells and I’ll be set for a while! I just love good deals.
Yesterday I ran the Ugly Sweater Run with a couple of friends. The weather was looking iffy, but the rain held out for the duration of the run (and for the free beer afterwards). It was an enjoyable 5k and a great way to get into the holiday spirit. I’d do it again next year!
Have you done anything to get into the holiday spirit?
